District Announcements
GBCS - Parent and Community Survey - Balanced Calendar and Tech Bond

Dear Parents and Community Members,

On the first day of school with staff, I announced ten educational and financial goals that I would like us to accomplish within the next two years.  The goals include such things as a later start time for high school students, a balanced calendar (year-round) option for parents to consider, and the passage of a technology bond.

With regard to the balanced calendar and a technology bond, we have collaborated with the University of Michigan-Flint to create a simple survey for parents and community members.  The feedback we receive will help us decide how best to proceed with regard to the calendar and bond.

As we continue to study these issues, the feedback you provide will be taken into very serious consideration.  So, please take just a few minutes to complete the survey attached to the link below.  For those without computers or for those who prefer paper/pencil surveys, we will have hard copies available at the district’s Central Office as well.

The on-line survey will be available from December 2nd to December 19th, 2014. (Please see the link below)

Thank you for your participation in this survey.

Sincerely,

Norman M. Abdella, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
